Any Other Business is a free community for women building businesses, run by Frances. This page explains what happens to the details you share with us, in plain English.
What we collect
When you join through the form on our site, we collect:
- your name
- your email address
- where you're based (a city or area)
- your business name, or a working title
- that you've agreed to our community values
Why we collect it
We use your details only to run the community:
- to send you an invite to our online community
- to send you details and updates about our meetups
- to understand who's in the group, for example so we can plan in-person meetups where members are based
We collect and use your details because you've asked to join. We never sell your details or use them for advertising.
Who else handles it
We use a few trusted services to run the community. Some are based outside the UK, mainly in the US, and they protect your data under their own privacy terms.
- Web3Forms passes your sign-up from our website form to our email.
- Google (Gmail) is where your sign-up and our emails to you are stored.
- Slack hosts our online community, if you accept the invite.
- GoatCounter gives us simple visitor numbers for this website. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect your name, email or anything that identifies you.
Cookies
This website doesn't use cookies to track you.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you're part of the community. If you leave, or ask us to delete them, we'll remove them within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- see the details we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your details
- stop sending you updates
Just email hello@anyotherbusiness.co and we'll sort it.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can also contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
